Description

We use numbers every day to help us with our everyday lives, and this course is designed for anyone looking to brush up on number skills relevant to the real world. It is a great first step for those interested in progressing onto an accredited Functional Skills maths qualification.

This course is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment & Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

What does the course cover?
We use numbers everyday to understand the world around us by knowing what they mean and how to use them. We can interpret their meaning when we see them in a weather report (the temperature), in the shops (the price), and at work (a budget), for example. This course will support you to build on your confidence to understand and interpret real world numbers - making your daily life a little easier!

Who is it suitable for?
This course is suitable for you if you want to improve your understanding of numbers in day-to-day life, and it will help you to progress onto an accredited Functional Skills maths qualification.

How is it completed?
Complete this course by attending sessions at a local community venue or in an online classroom on Microsoft Teams.

How long does it take to complete the course?
Between 3 to 6 weeks.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old living or working in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough.

Location
This workshops is delivered in different community venues across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough, or in an online classroom on Microsoft Teams.

When can I start?

What can I progress onto after completing?
You can progress onto achieving Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and 2 qualifications.
