Description

If you feel a bit uneasy speaking in front of an audience, this course is designed to assist you in developing valuable language skills and equip you with the tools you need to speak in both professional and personal settings. It is a great first step if you are interested in achieving an accredited Functional Skills English qualification.

This course is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment & Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

What does the course cover?
Do you find speaking in front of people a little stressful? You're not alone! This course will support you to build confidence with speaking in discussions and debates which are useful skills at work and in life. You will cover how to research a topic, collect data to back up your point, different methods to plan questions and to listen and respond confidently.

Who is it suitable for?
This course is suitable for you if you want to improve your confident speaking in public, whether it's in a meeting or in the community. This course will help you progress onto an accredited Functional Skills English qualification.

How is it completed?
Complete this course by attending sessions at a local community venue or in an online classroom on Microsoft Teams.

How long does it take to complete the course?
Between 3 to 6 weeks.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old living or working in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough.

Location
This workshop is delivered in different community venues across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough, or in an online classroom on Microsoft Teams.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You can progress onto achieving Functional Skills English Level 1 and 2 qualifications.
