C&G Certificate In Supporting Teaching And Learning In Schools Level 2

This level 2 work-based qualification will enable you to build the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in a school environment. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young peoples development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs, communication and professional relationships. The qualification is assessed by being observed in the workplace and completing e-learning and written tasks. You need to working in a suitable role for a minimum of 7 hours per week

What does the qualification cover?
You will complete 10 mandatory units and a couple of optional ones, covering a range of topics. These units are a combination of knowledge (where you write about the subject) and skills (where you are observed or discuss the subject).

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone working or volunteering for a minimum of 7 hours per week. You must be fully involved with supporting children in their lessons, working under the direction of the class teacher.

How is it completed?
Your assessor will visit you in your setting every 6-8 weeks. Prior to this meeting, you will have a detailed plan of what will be covered, and you will be expected to make suitable preparations. You should aim to allocate 3-4 hours per week to this qualification, in order to complete it within the given 12-months. Level 2 Safeguarding e-learning is included.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
12 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old and working or volunteering in key stage 1 or above, for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

Location
Independent learning with support from an assessor and observations at your workplace.

When can I start?
Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You could progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
