NCFE Certificate in Understanding Autism Level 2

This level 2 online qualification will give you an understanding of autism and the principles of supporting autistic individuals. You'll study the person-centred approach and the influence that positive communication methods can have and gain an understanding of how autistic individuals can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives. This course is delivered as a self-study programme, with assessor support via an online learning platform.

What does the qualification cover?
You'll gain an understanding of autism and the principle of supporting autistic individuals. You'll also learn about the person-centred approach and the influence that positive communication methods can have. You'll gain an understanding of how autistic individuals can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone who has an interest in supporting individuals who display autistic traits. You don't need to be working in a relevant job role or have any prior knowledge or experience.

How is it completed?
This is a short professional qualification, which is completed entirely online. There's no face-to-face contact with your assessor. Instead, you will be uploading evidence to an online learning platform, which will be assessed remotely, and feedback provided.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
3 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old.

Location
Independent learning completed online, with remote support from an assessor.

When can I start?
Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You could progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism. If you're working in an early years setting, you may wish to consider the Level 3 Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo) in Early Years Settings.
