Description

NCFE Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner Level 2

This qualification is ideal if you're new to the workforce, and will prepare you to work with children between birth and 5. During the qualification you will learn about the key roles and responsibilities of an early years practitioner; gain an understanding of the health & safety, safeguarding and equality & diversity requirements and demonstrate how to support development by providing suitable activities. The course is assessed by being observed in the workplace and completing e-learning and written tasks. You need to be working in a suitable role for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

This course is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment & Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

What does the qualification cover?
The knowledge and understanding of babies and young children aged birth to 7, with applied knowledge in early years.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone working or volunteering in early years education for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

By being observed in the workplace and completing e-learning and written tasks.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
12 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old and working or volunteering in early years education for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

Location
Independent learning completed online, with remote support from an assessor.

When can I start?
Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You could progress on to the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE)
