NCFE Award in an Introduction to Neuroscience in Early Years Level 2

This level 2 online qualification will help you to develop an understanding of the neuroscience of early brain development, how to support this development and the potential impact of adverse childhood experiences. This course is delivered as a self-study programme, with assessor support via an online learning platform.

What does the qualification cover?
This qualification's aim is to provide an introduction to the early development of the brain in babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age. It looks at how the social brain develops, the limbic system and self-regulation.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone who has an interest in early brain development. You don't need to be working in a relevant job role or have any prior knowledge or experience.

How is it completed?
This is a short professional qualification, which is completed entirely online. There's no face-to-face contact with your assessor. Instead, you will be uploading evidence to an online learning platform, which will be assessed remotely, and feedback provided.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
3 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old.

Location
Independent learning completed online, with remote support from an assessor.

When can I start?
Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You can access any other of our short CPD qualifications, or move on to one of our vocational qualifications, subject to being in the right job role.
