What does the qualification cover?
A Functional Skills Maths course will support you to learn, consolidate and apply key math skills in real work and life situations, whilst working towards an accredited City & Guilds Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners ready to achieve an accredited Functional Skills qualification.
How is it completed?
Complete this qualification by attending sessions at a local community venue, in an online classroom on Microsoft Teams, or by studying online independently. There is approximately 1-2 hours of homework expected per week.
How long does it take to complete the qualification?
Approximately 6 months.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old living or working in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough.
Location
Various - at a local community venue (in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough), in an online classroom (Microsoft Teams), or independent learning completed online with remote support from a tutor.

What can I progress onto after completing?
A level 2 Functional Skills qualification is recognised as equal to a pass at GCSE. You can access higher level learning opportunities and apprenticeships.
