Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce
What does the course cover?
This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas.
Who is it suitable for?
Anyone working in a suitable role (e.g: as a foster carer, family support worker, or in a Children's Centre).
How is it completed?
By being observed in the setting, completing e-learning, research and written assignments as well as reflection on current practice. You'll need to dedicate 4 to 5 hours per week.
How long does it take to complete the course?
18 months.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old and working in residential childcare for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Location
Independent learning with support from an assessor and observations at your workplace.
When can I start?
Anytime.
What can I progress onto after completing?
You may be able to move on to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, subject to being in the right job role.
