NCFE CACHE Technical Occupational Entry for Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 3 (Diploma)

This level 3 work-based qualification provides you with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments. It covers all aspects of specialist support including planning; delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice.
The qualification is assessed by being observed in the workplace and completing e-learning and written tasks. You need to be working in a suitable role for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

What does the qualification cover?
An in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills required when working directly with children and young people in a school or college environment.

This qualification develops the knowledge and practical skills learners need to support teaching, learning and pupil achievement within schools. It explores child and young person development, including how children learn and the factors that can influence their progress, learning and wellbeing.
Learners will build the confidence and skills needed to promote positive behaviour, inclusion, equality and diversity, helping to create supportive and engaging learning environments where all pupils can thrive. They will also develop their understanding of safeguarding and how to support the health, safety and welfare of children and young people in line with current legislation and best practice.
The qualification also focuses on developing effective communication, professional relationships and collaborative working skills. Learners will gain the knowledge and confidence to work effectively with pupils, teachers, parents, carers and other professionals, supporting positive outcomes for children and young people.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone working or volunteering in key stage 1 or above, for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

How is it completed?
By being observed in the workplace and completing e-learning and written assignments. There are 16 mandatory units in this qualification, all of which need to be completed and signed off by your assessor to confirm competency.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
15 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old and working or volunteering in key stage 1 or above, for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Location
Independent learning with support from an assessor and observations at your workplace.

Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You may wish to move on to any of our short CPD qualifications

Cost
£2,225. You may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan. Alternatively, payment in instalments can be arranged.
