This online course will build your knowledge of safeguarding and the Prevent duty, including online safety. With issues of human rights, hate crime and democracy becoming ever more prevalent in the UK and the world, it is more important than ever to be informed on the measures that can be taken to help prevent terrorism and promote safeguarding and British Values in society.

What does the course cover?
This qualification will cover topics to increase your understanding and awareness of the prevent duty and how you can effectively safeguard yourself and individuals. You will: Gain comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding principles to protect individuals from harm and abuse. Learn about the Prevent duty, its significance in society, and how to identify and respond to radicalisation and extremism. Develop an understanding of online safety practices to protect individuals from digital threats and promote responsible internet use. Understand the core British values, including democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. Utilise the acquired knowledge to create safe environments while fostering a culture of safety and respect.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for those who are responsible for safeguarding others and would like a better understanding of the Prevent duty and British values. However, you don't need to be working in a relevant job role or have any prior knowledge or experience.

How is it completed?
This is a short professional qualification, which is completed entirely online. There's no face-to-face contact with your assessor. Instead, you will be uploading evidence to an online learning platform, which will be assessed remotely, and feedback provided.

How long does it take to complete the course?
3 months.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old.

Location
Independent learning completed online, with remote support from an assessor.

When can I start?
Anytime.

What can I progress onto after completing?
You can access any other of our short CPD qualifications, or move on to one of our vocational qualifications, subject to being in the right job role.
