Description

This professional qualification is suitable for those interested in pursuing a career as a Doemstic Energy Assessor (DEA). Once qualified, DEAs register with an Accreditation Scheme which accreedits them to produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPC). for individual existing homes (not newly built).
This is in accordance with legislation implementing the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings. EPCs, energy ratings for homes, similar to consumer-friendly ‘fridge ratings', have been compulsory at the time of let or sale of domestic properties since 2008. EPCs can only be produced by qualified, accredited energy assessors.

The course will teach you to conduct energy assessments in a safe and effective manner, prepare for energy assessments of domestic property, undertake energy inspections, and produce and explain EPCs relating to domestic property.

This course is delivered by training provider Installation Assurance Authority on behalf of Bedfordshire Employment & Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.
