Description

This beginner course is perfect if you're starting your English writing journey. It is designed to build your confidence with writing the alphabet, using upper and lower case and mastering the use of capital letters and end-of-sentence punctuation in everyday writing. You'll also practice basic vocabulary related to everyday topics like days, months, seasons and festivals.

This course will support you to progress onto enrolling on Functional Skills ESOL and higher-level English qualifications, which equip you with the essential foundational skills in English for employment and education opportunities.

This course is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment & Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

Writing in English is an essential skill for everyday life. The foundational skills you'll learn in this course will help with tasks such as filling out forms with personal details and crafting short sentences about your likes and dislikes. Writing, speaking and listening skills will be integrated into this course to support your development.

This course is suitable for you if your first language isn't English, and you'd like to improve your written English skills. This course will help you progress onto Functional Skills ESOL and higher-level English qualifications.

Complete this course by attending sessions at a local community venue.

10 hours.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 19 years old living or working in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough, subject to meeting funding criteria conditions.
