Description

This Level 2 Technical Specialist Qualification is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to perform specialised roles within a specific occupational area.

This qualification will enable you to delve into the development of children and young people, examining various perspectives on childhood. You will investigate the role of the family and different family structures, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their potential effects on children. You'll also learn about the practitioner's role in supporting children affected by ACEs and explore strategies to build resilience and enhance outcomes for these children.

Entry requirements
Anyone 19+ who is working or volunteering in an early years setting for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

What does the course cover?
1. Explore childhood and family structures. 2. Examine Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and understand potential outcomes for children enduring ACEs. 3. Understand the role of the practitioner in supporting children impacted by ACEs. 4. Develop strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by ACEs.

This programme is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy. It is delivered via an e-learning platform, accessible at any time, with regular assessor support.
