Entry requirements
Anyone 19+ who is working or volunteering in an early years setting for a minimum of 7 hours per week.
What does the course cover?
1. Identify the nutritional requirements of children at different ages and stages of development.
2. Explain the benefits of good nutrition and hydration in an early years setting.
3. Obtain information about childrens special dietary requirements, preferences, or food allergies.
4. Plan balanced menus appropriate to childrens different dietary requirements and food allergies.
5. Promote good nutrition and hydration in an early years setting.
6. Adhere to the hygienic preparation and handling of food in an early years setting.
How is it completed?
This programme is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy.
It is delivered via an e-learning platform, accessible at any time, with regular assessor support.
