Description

This Level 2 Technical Specialist Qualification is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to perform specialised roles within a specific occupational area.

This level 2 qualification covers exploring brain development in relation to holistic growth, with a particular focus on self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to seven years. You will share knowledge of the impact of neuroscience on child development with staff and parents, evaluate pedagogical practice, recognise trauma in children and model co-regulation.

Entry requirements
Anyone 19+ who is working or volunteering in an early years setting for a minimum of 7 hours per week.

What does the course cover?
1. Evaluate pedagogical practice to ensure learning from neuroscience is embedded in daily practice. 2. Recognise trauma in children and work in partnership to best support them. 3. Model co-regulation to foster self-regulation in children.

This programme is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy. It is delivered via an e-learning platform, accessible at any time, with regular assessor support.
