Description

This Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) will enable you to learn new skills and get experience of working in a particular sector. This programme will enable you to prepare for a role in the private security industry and apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work legally as a door supervisor.  

What does the course/qualification cover?
1. The main characteristics of the Private Security Industry 2. The importance of safe working practices 3. Drug-misuse legislation 4. Problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict 5. Physical interventions and the implications of their use 6. The use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
