Description

This short, practical course is designed to help learners develop confidence and key maths skills for everyday life. It focuses on improving understanding of number relationships and calculation strategies through real-life activities such as budgeting, shopping, reading timetables, and managing time or money.

Learners will practise using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to solve common problems, while developing confidence in interpreting numbers on bills, receipts, and other daily materials. The course also supports understanding and use of measurements such as time, length, and money in meaningful, everyday contexts.

Throughout the course, learners will be encouraged to reflect on their progress, recognise what they do well, and identify areas for improvement, helping to build a positive attitude and confidence in maths.

By the end of the course, learners will feel more comfortable using maths in real-life situations and better prepared to progress to Functional Skills or other learning opportunities.
