Description

A Skills Bootcamp is a short, intensive training course designed to equip the participant with the skills and knowledge required by employers to be job ready. Each programme is developed in collaboration with employers and concludes with a guaranteed interview for a genuine job opportunity.

The content of each Skills Bootcamp may vary slightly, as each employer will input into the curriculum content.

This skills bootcamp is delivered by Specialist Trade Courses Ltd on behalf of Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy.  

What does the course cover?
Our 3R Fabric First (retrofit, repair, and refurbish) Bootcamp program is aimed at supporting new entrants to the construction trades and green economy. The program will benefit the economy by moving individuals into employment and support the march to Net Zero. Our course will support those who want to enter employment or further develop their skills. Our courses are Full Time 5 days a week, 8 hours per day for 6 weeks in duration. All learners will complete Construction Multi Trade, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, Retrofit, Employability and CSCS within their programs

Entry requirements and who is it suitable for
This bootcamp is suitable for learners who are looking to enter the sector or change careers. You must be at least 19 years old and live or work in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough.

How is it completed?
The Skills Bootcamp is delivered full-time, five days a week, for six weeks, with each day running eight hours. Training takes place face-to-face at our purpose-built trade training centre on Airfield Road, Podington, NN29 7XA. Learners also have access to our online training portal and group study sessions to support their learning. The programme combines practical trade training with assessed assignments and course workbooks. The Sustainability and Retrofit programme is tested after each module, followed by an internal multiple-choice exam, while the CSCS course is assessed online through a multiple-choice test. On successful completion, learners will achieve two recognised qualifications.

How long does it take to complete?
6 weeks

What can I progress onto?
Learners can progress to level 3 multi trade or level 3 to 5 in Retrofit, also undertake further trade skills training through wider sector-based work programs like apprenticeships. We will also sign post learners to our college partners if learner want to specialise.
