What does the course cover?
Learners will cover core data fundamentals and data analysis using Excel, followed by data management and visualisation with Power BI and Tableau. Learners will explore database design and complete a SQL project, alongside gaining an understanding of Azure Data Fundamentals. The programme also introduces Python and statistical analysis, progressing into a hands-on data analysis project using Python and Pandas. Throughout the course, participants receive ongoing career and wraparound support, with additional tailored support provided where required to help prepare for employment.

The Data Skills Bootcamp is suitable for adults aged 19+ living or working in Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough who are seeking to enter or progress within data, digital and technology-enabled roles aligned to local employer demand.
It is designed for individuals with little or no prior data experience, as well as those with basic digital, administrative or operational experience who wish to transition into analytical, reporting or technical career pathways. This includes jobseekers, career changers, returners to work, economically inactive residents, and individuals seeking to improve employability and earning potential.
The programme is also suitable for employed learners and SMEs across key local sectors including logistics, manufacturing, professional services, health, education, retail and public services who wish to upskill staff in data literacy, operational reporting, performance monitoring and evidence-based decision making.
Entry requirements focus on motivation, digital confidence and commitment rather than formal qualifications. Learners require basic IT skills, access to a computer and internet connection, and the ability to participate in online learning. No prior coding or data qualifications are required.
How is it completed?
The course is delivered over an intensive 8-week core training programme. During the core 8 weeks, learners participate in structured live virtual workshops, guided practical labs, independent study and weekly assessments. This period covers all mandatory curriculum content required to prepare learners for the capstone project that will evidence technical and professional skills developed across the bootcamp.

Learners completing the Data Skills Bootcamp progress into employment, apprenticeships, or further technical training aligned to regional labour market demand and employer skills needs.
