Description

A Skills Bootcamp is a short, intensive training course designed to equip the participant with the skills and knowledge required by employers to be job ready. Each programme is developed in collaboration with employers and concludes with a guaranteed interview for a genuine job opportunity.

The SPS Skills Bootcamp in Warehousing and Logistics is a practical, employer-focused programme designed to prepare learners for entry-level roles within the warehousing, logistics, and supply chain sector. The course provides learners with the essential knowledge, skills, and recognised qualifications needed to work safely, efficiently, and confidently in a warehouse environment.

What does the course cover?
Learners will achieve a Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Warehousing, which covers key industry fundamentals, including: working within the warehousing industry, maintaining hygiene standards when handling goods and equipment, working towards personal and workplace goals. To support safe and compliant working practices, learners will also gain a level 2 award in food safety for manufacturing and a level 2 award in health and safety at work. Alongside technical knowledge, the bootcamp develops customer service and employability skills that are highly valued by employers. Learners will receive tailored support to improve their communication and customer service skills, CVs and job applications, and interview techniques and workplace behaviours

Entry requirements and who is it suitable for
The programme is suitable for individuals looking to enter the warehousing and logistics sector, return to work, or upskill for progression. On completion, learners will be well-prepared for roles such as warehouse operative, logistics assistant, or distribution support worker, with a strong foundation for further training and career development. Learners will get a guaranteed interview with a local Warehousing employer.

How is it completed?
Our Skills Bootcamp in Warehousing and Logistics will be delivered face to face in a classroom environment at local venues, providing learners with a supportive and interactive learning experience. The course will run Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 3:00pm, over a period of three weeks, allowing learners to develop knowledge and skills at a steady and manageable pace. Sessions will be tutor-led and include a mix of teaching, discussion, and practical activities to support learning. Learners will be expected to complete a small amount of self-study, up to a maximum of five hours across the duration of the course, to reinforce classroom learning. Each day will include regular breaks, and refreshments will be provided to ensure a comfortable and welcoming learning environment.

How long does it take to complete?
3 weeks.

What can I progress onto?
On successful completion of our Skills Bootcamp in Warehousing and Logistics, learners can progress onto a range of further training and qualifications that support employment, upskilling, and career progression within the sector. Learners may move on to Level 2 warehousing and logistics qualifications, which build on operational knowledge and workplace competence. For those entering employment, progression to a Level 2 or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Warehouse Operative or Supply Chain Practitioner would provide structured on-the-job training and long-term career development. Additional licence-based or specialist training may also be appropriate, including: Forklift Truck (FLT) training, Level 2 Award in Manual Handling, Level 2 or 3 Award in First Aid at Work. Learners interested in supervisory or progression roles could advance to Level 3 qualifications in Warehousing, Team Leading, or Leadership and Management, supporting roles such as shift supervisor or warehouse team leader. The employability skills developed during the bootcamp also support progression into sustained employment, work placements, or further sector-specific training aligned to employer needs.
