What does the course cover?
Designed for adults (19+) seeking a career change, the course prepares learners for immediate entry into high-demand sectors including logistics, retail supply chains, and construction. The comprehensive curriculum covers vital knowledge: vehicle operations, load safety, digital tachographs, drivers' hours regulations, and eco-driving. Crucially, it embeds core safety principles - working with vulnerable road users, risk mitigation, and driver wellbeing.
Learners will complete their Certificate in Professional Competence/CPC assessment including: DVSA HGV Theory Test/CPC Case Studies Test/4-day final practical driving assessment covering Off-Road exercises/2-hours reversing assessment/24-hours on-road driving/3-hours of practical demonstration training/1-hours DVSA road Test
Entry requirements and who is it suitable for
Applicants will be required to undertake a DVSA approved medical, therefore a level of fitness is required and assessed by the DVLA.
How is it completed?
This HGV Skills Bootcamp is a 12-week programme designed to fit around your schedule, with 80 guided learning hours and around 23 hours of self-study. You will take part in flexible, blended learning through a mix of face-to-face sessions and virtual classes on Zoom, with multiple time slots available (morning, afternoon, and evening) so you can choose what works best for you. Sessions are delivered in short, engaging modules using interactive approaches like gamified activities and role play, and are repeated across the programme to help you stay on track and avoid falling behind. This flexible structure allows you to tailor your learning around commitments such as work or childcare while building your skills at a manageable pace.

What can I progress onto?
Learners could progress onto: Level 2 Warehousing and Logistics and the Level 3 Diploma in Logistics (Driving Rigid Vehicles).
