Description

This qualification provides learners with an understanding of the key principles of environmental sustainability and the importance of balancing environmental, social and economic needs. Learners will explore sustainable development and examine how individuals, communities and organisations can contribute to reducing environmental impacts and supporting a more sustainable future.

Learners will develop knowledge of practical approaches to resource conservation, waste reduction and environmental protection, enabling them to support sustainable practices in both personal and workplace settings.

This course is delivered by Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

What does the qualification cover?
This course provides an understanding of the principles of environmental sustainability, exploring the environmental, social and economic factors that support sustainable development.
Learners will develop knowledge of sustainable communities, energy management and transport, and understand how these contribute to reducing environmental impact.
The course also examines the social responsibility of businesses, highlighting how organisational practices can support environmental sustainability.
In addition, learners will explore the principles of waste management, including waste reduction, reuse, recycling and responsible resource management, helping to support a more sustainable future.

How is it completed?
This is a short professional qualification, which is completed entirely online. There is no face-to-face contact with the assessor. Instead, you will be uploading evidence to an online learning platform, which will be assessed remotely by the assessor, and feedback provided.

How long does it take to complete the qualification?
4 months. It is important that you can commit sufficient time to this qualification, and in order to achieve it, you need to ensure you can allocate 5-7 hours per week (on average) for completing the tasks.

What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 19 years old and live or work in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough.

Anytime.
